6 ppc improved?

does such a thing exsist? if so, what kind of ballistics are they getting with it? any one have a reamer for sale for it? brian

I was toying with the idea of the 6x40 ppc with a fast twist for the heavy vld .6mm bullets but figured it would have a very short neck. But it still bugs me from time to time to have one chamberd up. Clay Spencer and I talked about it as he has his version of the cartridge that he chambers in his hog rifles. You will need to have custom dies made up and that's a cost I didn't want as the 6 BR will do the same thing.Don't assume that because it's parent cartridge is a 220 Russian that it will be as accurate as the PPC.

The 6PPC was "improved" almost as soon as it first appeared on the firing line. There are several versions but most differ only in name. One short-range benchrest shooter still uses one. I had one for a season and I could get only a little more velocity but the accuracy was no better than a straight PPC so it was hardly worth the effort and expense. If you're interested only in velocity you'd be better off to go with a BR and save all the work and expense of a wildcat. JMHO

Here's the only photo I have of the one I used. It's on the left. The Grendl necked to 6mm, BTW, is virtually the same thing.
