6 or 22PPC/Panda

Fellas I have a quick question.
I am building a new Prone Rifle ( 308-6BR) with a Panda action. I was thinking (scary thought) I could buy a used 6PPC or 22PPC barrel and use it for a plinking, Prairie Dog rifle. A barrel with 1000 rounds from a Benchrest rifle SHOULD be great little Varmint barrel.
Question one. The 308 Bolt face used with the 6PPC case head... will it work? ie extract.
Question two. Will the used 6PPC Barrel headspace correctly on the 308 Bolt face?

I used a br boltface Teddy for years, shooting a ppc case head. It'll extract fine. Ejection is another story...if your gun has an ejector.
Headspace on Pandas is 1.115". There were some early Pandas without the coned breech. In theory, coned breech Panda barrels will interchange, but in practice...they should be checked for proper headspace and bolt to barrel clearance before firing, as well as proper thread fit.

There's no such thing as a perfect gunsmith or a perfect action...so just confirm proper dimensions and all should be fine.

Thats good news. Didnt want to spend money on a Barrel, brass, and headspace gage without asking. Only down fallI see at this point is that ill have to turn necks on the 6PPC brass just to shoot a stinking Prairie Dog. Certainly not needed for that. Most tubes look to have .262 neck on them in 14 twist which should be perfect for a 50gr to 60gr Varmint bullet.

If you don't want to turn brass, run a reamer with a larger neck in & open it up. Easier than having to turn 1000 rds.
