6 mm pc qustion on ballistics.

what are some of the real world ballistics on the 6 mm ppc round. i can find a wide variety of foot-per-second readings, but i cant find any energy reading on the 6 mm ppc. i am wanting to see if this round will be a good addition to my ar-15 arsenal. i am planning on making an upper, and its between the 6 mm ppc and the 6.5 grendal. but, i think that with good shot placement, the 6 ppc can do the job just as well. thanks for your input, brian. , also, every one says it a wonderful 200 yard round, but is it any good farther down range?)

I shoot a 6PPC at point blank Benchrest, 600 yard Benchrest, and at live varmints.

Real world ballistics in my rifles are that the 6PPC case will push a 60 grain varmint bullet to 3600 fps and a 95 grain bullet to 3000 fps. Not in the same rifle, mind you. Shooting buddies have shot the 107 grain bullet to 2900 fps. Accuracy levels are well known.

The 6.5 Grendl is a fine cartridge but probably will not equal the 6PPC in accuracy. Shooters are now necking the Grendl down to 6mm making a sorta PPC Ackley. This is not new. Benchrest shooters have been doing this for close to 20 years. There doesn't seem to be a whole lot gained by doing this unless you are trying to push the envelope out beyond 600 yards.

For the AR, look here. Robert even offers "package" deals.

i have read about the 6 mmm ar, but i think that i am tryin to find a cartrige that i can make my own barrel for. i am wanting to make one out of blank. my only concern is finding a round that is both very acccurate, and powerful, but doesnt cost much to run.,i know, thats asking a lot.) i am mearly just trying to find the "perfect" round for me, but they all look so good. the thing that i like about the 6 mmppc, is that, though it is a smaller diameter bullet, you can make up for that with very good shot placement. i am looking into building a bolt gun soon, but i have the AR and tool for it now, and i think it will be cheaper than trying to find a bolt gun, tool's for it and so forth.

what do you guys think? brian.
