Gary,
I'm not sure what your saying here. If you buy a used LV rifle from Bob White it is probably going to be chambered in 6 PPC. Then you will need to have it rechambered to 6BR to get what your asking about. There may be a few 6BR guns used in short range BR but not many. Anyway there is noting wrong in shooting a PPC for the ranges your talking about. Get some brass, Vv133 powder or 8208, and some good bullets 65-70 gr and go for it. Then after you save up for a new barrel then fit a 6BR if you want one. You'll need a good scope to with it before a new barrel. In my opinion the 6BR really doesn't come into it'
s own until your shooting longer ranges. For the ranges your talking about the PPC will be more accurate.

You could buy many 6BR's from bob and you just cant go wrong, i have bought several rifles from MR white and have had,and im haveing some riflesmithing done from him right now.all first class..

My favorite 6BR varmit load is 30.5GR RL-10 behind a 65gr V-Max,cci 450 primer..very accurate,hard hitting.
there are so many powders that work well in the 6BR with bullets in the 65gr to 70gr range is where you should stay in my opinion.

Wow the list of powders that will shoot well in the 6BR is big...
same with bullets you can shoot from 55gr'er to a 75gr'er in the 14 twist.
so have fun trying to figure out what you and or what your rifle will like.
