6 mm BR and the 55 gr. Nosler BT

As I go through the different threads, I can't seem to find anyone who is loading the 55 gr Nosler BT in this cartridge. Am I missing something or is this bullet a waste of time in this cartridge? I planned on using this bullet in my new rifle but looks like it is not very popular, Has anyone tried this bullet and if so, what load has proven to work well in your rifle. The barrel I have ordered is a 1 in 12" twist and that is what Shilen has recommended. Did I make a mistake by building around this bullet? Rifle will be used for a varmint rifle for P-dogs and coyotes. Thanks

If your gun is for varmints, lighter bullets are the way to go. Mine has a 14" twist and shoots 55-65's really well, but I stay mostly with 55-58's. All three plastic tipped bullets are very accurate but the 55BT has the highest BC at .276. Accuracy is over a fairly wide range and a couple of the best loads are at 3855 and 3919 using AA2230 powder.

I use 55 gr BT and a load of 33grs AA-2460 and I get 3850 FPS. The barrel is a 26" SS Hart with a 1/14" twist. I love this load shooting 1/4" groups all day long and it is great on P-dogs out as far as you want to shoot them. Tim
