shooting a 24 or 26 barrel what kind of volocity can one expect from 90 or 100 grain mk or berger bullets.will us gun for deer and groundhogs in pa.shooting range s to 400 or 500 yd max.

I have had several barrels on my 6mm-284,in my opinion I would never have one with a barrel shorter than 28" with a 1-8" or faster twist barrel to shoot 105-115gr VLD type bullet's. if you want a shorter barrel or want to shoot lighter bullets you would be better served using a case of less capacity.
