Went out this afternoon with my hunting bud and boy was it hot, didn't stop the hogs from eating beans though. First shot was at 535yds for a miss. Must have been a lucky hog as the next 6 didn't fair so well. From 156yds-400yds all died in fair fashion.

This was a 300yd hog and for some odd reason none of the other pictures i took made it. I did smash a little one with that 40gr bullet that eviscerated the little guy and the buzzards I'm sure are thanking me. We have a trip scheduled for Wednesday evening, hoping for some more good shooting with the 20 Practical.

I built the rifle from spare shop parts.
27" 3g 11"t X-caliber barrel
40x action that was left for dead
Savage style bolt
40x rimfire stock
Jewel trigger
Leupold 8.5-25x50
Lc13 brass
40gr vmax @3855 over benchmark

I chambered it using a minimum spec reamer. This was the first 10rds from the barrel and it's still humming along. Managed a 10 (+/-)" 5 shot group at @910yds last weekend. Absolutely prefect conditions, took 28.75 moa to get on target and 1+sec flight time but it did very well.

Nice rifle for "spare parts" . Accuracy...speed...and death to vermin with the 20 Practical
I liked the caliber so much I put together another 20 Prac. Ya just got to have back-ups...LOL

Just took one of my 22ppc (ruger m-77) in to the gun shop and am getting a 20-ppc built.. I know that it will make p-dogs fly here in Colorado..I have 2 practical and 2 vartargs also and a few others..
