6 Dasher with 9' twist?

Anyone out there using a 6 Dasher with a 9" twist barrel? If so, what bullets are you shooting? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

Chris

I am using the BRDX which is the same H20 as the dasher. I am using the BIB 105 Flat Base. The FB bullets require one slower twist, but need longer freebore

Thanks for the reply, BH.

To open it up a bit, is anyone shooting other than the 100 grain class match bullets with an 8 twist? If so, what bullet, and what twist? Any responses would be appreciated.

Cheers,

Chris

Chris,With my 6 Dasher I am shooting the 107 gr. SMK in an 8" twist. I have a fireform load using the 105 gr. AMax under 3000 fps. then after that I have the best luck with the 107 gr. SMK. I am going to be trying some Berger 95 gr. VLD,s as my case life has been relatively short due to primer pockets getting loose with the 107 gr. SMK's.I use the 6 Dasher in 600 yd. IBS benchrest competition.

Chris,
I have a Dasher with an 8 twist Krieger, it clearly likes 107 SMK molys and 95 Bergers, moly as well) with RL-15 31.5 and 33.0 respectively. I've tried the same bullets with loads of Data 79,3% faster than AA 2700) and Data 74,3% slower than AA 2520) and got close to the same consistency but never as good as RL-15. I have gotten really good results with the Hornady 87 gr HPBT and the V-max of the same weight the 75 gr V-max seems to be over spun and pushed as it works fine in the straight 6BR with 10 twist but is marginal in the Dasher.
The Berger 80 gr and the Nosler 80 gr Bal Tip both work well in the 8 twist Dasher with 33.5-34.1 gr of RL-15 which is light but accurate. These are my results and observations, my 8 twist Dasher "likes" molys and RL-15,no matter how many times I try to shoot the Data powders) the only one hole groups were produced with molys but some were with Data 79 and 74. My straight 10 twist 6BR likes Varget AND RL-15 AND H-335 AND AA2015 AND Data 73 AND 2230C AND H-322 it does not like any bullets much heavier than the 80 gr Nos but will shoot the 87 Hornadys but runs out of power.
The Dasher is more picky but more fun. Like my 1100 Yamaha or my Corvette when it's good it's really good.

Thanks to all that have responded, or may still respond. I am researching what people are using in the Dasher, and wanted to see how may folks are traveling off the beaten path of the 105/107 VLDs and 8 twist.

Thanks all!

Cheers,

I'm having trouble with 1:8 twist barrels and 105-107 bullets. I'm only shooting at 100yds but it seem that the 95gr Bergers shoots best. Don't know if I like VLD bullets, maybe they need more than 100 yds to strighten out? But for now 100yds is all I have to shoot ..
