6 Dasher and Vihtavuori

Has anyone shot N135, N140, or N540 with any results good or bad in your 6 Dasher? Specifically talking shooting the 105-108 bullets.

Thanks
Brandon

Brandon,

I have been shooting N140 in a 6 BRX for several years. I believe the two are almost ballistically identical from the loads and velocities I see posted. My BRX likes 3,010-3,025 fps with 105 Berger VLDs or 107 Sierras and 33.5-33.7 gr. of N140, Wolf SRM primer, jammed .020" into the lands with light neck tension. Shoots more consistently than Varget or Rel 15 in my barrel. These loads do not hurt the brass. I have a PacNor 1-8" .236" bore, .104" F.B., 30.25" barrel. These loads are with Moly'd bullets. I tested the new 105 hybrids and will bump them up in charge to attain the same velocity jumping them about .015". They look promising.

I shot 3 rounds on my Dasher last nite just fooling around with some N550 based on a Quickload barrel node and velocity was 3,070 in my 30 inch barrel, but is approaching pressure in my rifle @ 35.6 grains. Do not try this powder weight in your rifle without working up. Accuracy was there as well.
