6 Dasher - .020" Jump???

Watched my gun builder snap the threaded end off his tool. Pushing it firmly might duplicate that "snap". Wish it were made of stailness or something stronger than aluminum.

Tapping the rod "lightly", maybe like a snap of the finger, is worth trying. Appreciate the info.
