6 brx

Dose anyone have any load data for 105's - 108's ?
I haven't had much luck finding the data on here.
Thanks Robert

I'm also moving from a 6BR to a BRX. There isn't a ton of data on here (especially compared to the Dasher), but I think there's enough that I'm comfortable with starting with Dasher starting loads. I think the difference in loads between the two cartridges is probably within the range of difference in rifles/barrels.

Or pretty much the same with RL15 and CCI450's.

Start low and work up from 31grns. Watch for pressure signs very close.

My BRX loves 107 SMK's, and 105 JLK's. I have not had a reason to try others. The BRX like both bullets kissing the lands or a few thousandths off.

Good Luck.

Don't be afraid to try those 107 SMK's in the lands, they like that too.

Beckman has an interesting article on this site. I believe it's in the "Gun of the Week" section. You should find the link on the home page. It's "Beckman's BRX" .

I have never tried his loads, frankly, I would be scared to. But he swears by it. I tried the load, but the bullet is off the lands. Read his article to see where he likes them.

.035" in is about where I'm at with 32.4 RL15 with .140"fb. Shoots great! I fire form new cases with 30.5 Varget .055" in, and that load shoots as good as the worked up load, just slower! Both loads are with a 107 SMK.

This will be my 5th. season shooting BRX's. I shoot 33.4 gr of Varget, BR4 primers, and EPS 106 gr. bullets. I also shoot with a Bob Green tuner. Bob also builds my rifles. I have had success with this from 100 yds. through 1000 yds. I am in the rifling .012. I am using the same brass I started with 5 yrs. ago. I anneal every 3rd firing. You will enjoy this cartridge.

Freebore makes a huge difference on what powder charge you can run. Think of it like a dasher, if the freebore is the same I shoot the exact same powder charge as I run in my dasher. That's why Jason gave you a wide window above...he's dead on and I'm near the bottom, but I'm also still shooting the .104 freebore.

It's a mildly compressed load but 35.7 grains of H4350 and Berger 105 BT's is very accurate in my rifle.

Been shooting the BRX for 10 years now. I've used Kreiger, Bartlien, Shillen, and Brux barrels. All have been 32 inch-1:8 twist and use 33.2-33.4 grains of Varget . I fire form using the false shoulder method at club matches with 30 gns of Varget. I've used Berger 105 VLD's at .030 off the lands and the Hybrids .010 +/- off the lands. I've since settled on Hybrids as they are more forgiving on seating depth. Speed averages 3020 fps with single digit SD.

Hope this helps...
