6 BRA w/87gr V-Max info please

I have a 6 BR that shoots 31 gr. Varget, CCI 450, 87gr. V-Max .015" jam into 1/2"-3/4" groups easily at 100 yards. I have tried to mimic this load while firing 6 BRA and the accuracy has never been better than 1" at 100 yards.
I know it is a totally different cartridge and what not but the chamber other than being a 6 BRA has the same neck and throat dimensions as my BR. I have tried a lot from different powder weights and from .015 jam all the way to .015 jump. Honestly, the groups all basically stay the same at no better than 1" and typically no bigger than 2" at 100. These are 5 shot groups.
The barrel is a 7.5 twist, I do use it primarily for shooting steel with 105 Hybrids. But my BR barrel is a 7.5 twist also. Both Hawk Hills. So I don't see twist having a negative effect, in my experience.

I have searched a lot on the forum here and see a lot of people talking about this bullet and different powder combo with short free bores in their 6 BR's and BRA's.
I know my set up is not optimum but it just seems odd that I cant get anything better than 1"-2"' at 100.

Does anyone have any information to share in which case they found success with a 6 BRA and 87 V-Max bullets and using .274 neck and .135 FB and faster twist barrel such as a 1:7.5?
I am just curious to see what information is out there. Thanks in advance.

David, I have info about the 87 V-Max. It don't shoot in my 1-8 either. Sorry to be part of the problem not the solution. I'm going to try the 95 Berger Classic Hunter this weekend. Mike A.

I would really suggest a seating depth test. From 20 in to 50 out. I bet it shoots better jumping a lot.

I was thinking the same. Perhaps a guy needs to take a bigger swing in jumping the bullet

Sorry, I see that i did say fire forming. I edited post. I am looking for a full BRA load using th 87 V-Max. Sorry for any confusion.

I think the 70 TNT shoots really good jammed really hard. They are cheap and shoot amazing and blow up like a hand grenade. Might be really good for fire forming and you could shoot some Pdogs while you fire form

I use mine in 6BR but I bet it is even better in 6BRA.

Get you some LT32 or AA2015 and work up from 30 to the top node which should be about 31ish or 31.5 or so. R10x is excellent also (is just a tick slower than LT32 so might be about 32 grainsish) and is a very underrated powder for 6BR. Even H335 should work great and would work good not even weighing charges.

how are these bullets with a longer FB since they like to be jammed? Or have you shot them jumping?

Its pretty long with a Flatback. Should be able to jam them with a FB even as long as 127 thou.

I got firm bolt lift and a light ejector mark at 31.0. I also did some very scientific expansion testing. Recovered these from my berm. Can you tell which is 107 SMK and the 95 Hunter?
