6 BR Overall Length

My 6BR warner-Kreiger Barrel measure from about 2.208 to 2.218
using a Stoney Point Gage into the lands.
Sierra 107's are supposed to be about 2.375 Max according to Sierra.
But a test cartridge that length won't easily close on my chamber.
What should my "ideal" OAL be?

Thanks!

Big Al

To the question "what should be my ideal length", I think that we have to think about the real world : the chambers dimensions and the shape of the bullets !

The shape of the chamber and the shape of the bullet oblige you to have one precise OAL for this couple ! A rounder bullet has to be seated deeply, whith a shorter OAL than some very pointed bullets which can be seated with a longer OAL !

The other way to think about it is to define an ideal OAL, to choose a bullet and then, to make a chamber adjusted for these ones !
