6 BR freebore length?

I'm about to order a 6BR reamer (I will be using Lapua brass) that will be for the heavy bullets. Say in the 105-107 gr. range. What freebore length should I be using? Not looking for the ragged edge of extremes, just a solid established performer. If you would like to post reamer prints that would be great as well. Thanks, Durward

If you go long, you can't go back. (without a rechamber)
I go short for starters and shoot the lightest bullets I can get my hands.
ZERO is my favorite starting point.
In your case with the heavier bullets, maybe .040 Any less than that and you'll have the bullet base sticking down below the shoulder/neck junction. And, the throat will wear faster than you expect so think hard and plan ahead.

.115-.120 is a good start. Let the gunsmith use his reamer. He will know which freebore to use and itll save you a good chunk of money

I'm not a gunsmith but I've had several 6BR's and finally got my own reamer a few months ago. IMHO, the shortest length you should consider is .060" and the longest about .105". Either one of the attached (standard)reamers should work fine for you. I got a Manson because they had one on the shelf at the time and it worked well for the first chamber. I'd also get a "go" gauge with it. @DaveTooley helped me a lot and maybe he'll chime in.

Maybe a little late but my favorite 6BR reamer for 103-108 class bullets has .120 freebore. It’s a 271 neck PTG reamer that has truly been of the best reamers I’ve ever owned.
