6 br ballistics assistance needed

i have tried to find a program to use in order to get the right clicks down for my gun -- i know where it shoots and how many clicks for 200 yards but i cant shoot any further than that at my home -- i am going to a shoot in about a month and i need to know how many clicks for 300 and 500 yards and would like to be as close as possible before i go do a practice shoot a week before the actual shoot -- if someone has the same gun/load i sure would appreciate some info here or suggestion on software to use - i have tried using some of the software but either i am not smart enough or the software is just too in depth for me -- all i want to know is the clicks on my scope -- here is what i am shooting -- 6br 1 in 10 twist and i using a berger 88 gr ld bullet with 33.2 gr of reloader 15 -- on the chrono is around 3200 fps average -- im pretty sure that was the correct fsp - if that looks way off then i will have to find the scrap of paper i wrote it on -- the scope is a NF benchrest model 12x42 - i dont know of any other info unless its weather related - if there is some pretty good software that just gives the drop in inches i will be glad to pay for it but would like to know that it works before wasting more money on software - i appreciate any info scott

that ballistics calculator is exactly what i am looking for -- only problem is my figures are not coming out right - or maybe they are right but im looking at it wrong -- i used a 22-250 load that i know the clicks on just to see if it was close for it and it was - it was very close but when i put all my info in for the 6 br it just dont look right -- for example when i put in my load info for the br it comes up with 7.7 clicks at 200 yards - well i know for fact i need to turn 4 clicks up for 200 yards and its on the money but where is the 7.7 coming up at ??? - its a 1/8 moa scope -- here is the info i am putting in -- berger 243 -88 gr ld - mv 3225 - wind 0 - temp 60- baro 30.00in - scope height 1.0 - 70% humidity- ------ now fooling around trying to get some figures close i tried putting in 1/4 moa and it came up close but i know the scope is 1/8 moa so that really blows my mind -- got any suggestions and i appreciate the link to the jbm - if i can figure this out that program looks great thanks scott

Two thoughts--remeasure your scope height. 1.5" is more common.

What is your zero that you start from when you click up to zero at 200?

4 clicks of a 1/8-MOA scope is only 1" of elevation change at 200 if you're zeroed at 100. That doesn't sound right...

boy i hate to ask this in open but here goes - how do you measure scope height - i measured from the bottom of the scope to the top of the receiver,nesika k) and it was 1" -- as far as 0 the scope is at 0 at 100 yards and i turn up 4 clicks for 200 yards and from there i dont know -- so you are saying taht the 1" of elevation for the 200 being 4 clicks,1/2 in) doesnt sound right but i have shot the gun at 200 and with 4 clicks that puts it right on - meaning that it shoots approx 1/2 low at 200- that does sound off to me too -- and i know the nf scope is 1/8 moa - its printed on the turret tops -- if i change the scope height will that make that much difference in the figures ? or do i need to shoot the gun again at 200 just in case i have lost my mind - that is possible

wait wait wait -- i may have figured out part of my problem -- sorry i dont know what i was thinking or not thinking --- this is a different scope now -- see let me explain - i had a nf nxs 12x32 on the gun to start with - its a 1/4 moa ---WELL now i have a nxs BR 12x42 scope now which is 1/8 moa -- i got to thinking about it and that is where the problem is --so forget the 4 clicks - now i guess it would be 8 clicks with this new scope -- i dont know why i didnt think of that -- so with this being said what do you think scott

mine also is 2.2 or 2 1/8 in measuring from center of barrel to center of scope

this is killing me so i am going to go shoot the gun again at 200 right now -- i guess i havent even shot the gun with the new scope yet at 200 - i sure am glad i figured this little difference out now and not waiting until a few days before the shoot - i guess i just ASSumed that the two scopes were 1/8 moa - my bad - will post back shortly

ok i shot and started with 4 clicks up at 200 yards and shot about 1 or 1 1/2 " low so i moved it 5 and 6 clicks for a 1/2 " low -- wind was pretty bad so its not really a good check but i got tomorrow evening and more shells so time will tell - i will try 7 and 8 clicks just to see -- thanks for the help and i will play with the program a little more this evening

fellas after trying 3 different programs i still can not get the figures i am looking for -- or the correct ones i believe -- so with that said -- if anyone is shooting a 6br and using 88 gr bergers with reloader 15 powder and a 1/8 scope will you get me in the ballpark for 300 and 500 yards as far as clicks go -- i appreciate all the links and help here but time is growing near and i at least want to be on paper when i go to practice -- i know this -- for 200 yards it takes 5 clicks up and not sure on the rest if gun is zeroed for 100 yards -- just in case you would like to know the info i have been putting in -- 3225 Muzzle speed,fps)
