6.8Western at 656 yards

We take a trip down every year to shoot ground hogs. 656 isn't long IMO. I love shooting ground hogs in Ohio. 650 is our average shot. Many extend to 1200 yards. Lots of alfalfa and bean fields that span hundreds of acres. I think 650 is long for many shooters. I don't think it's long for Ohio tho. Here in Michigan, it's very long for a shot on any game animal. Too bad Ohio doesn't allow rifles in certain areas. I guess that's why they grow such Big Bucks. I do like what I see from the ballistics of the 6.8 Western cartridge. The 270 is no slouch but the fast twist offerings gives the 6.8 Western (or as I call it, the 270WSM twin) new life.

What is the measurement of that metal hog and the square target ? Seems like he took a long time walking it into the hog target. The hits on the square one, look to be more than 6MOA, for a 650 some target.
