6.8 SPC Necked To 6mm...

I'd be shocked if this hasn't been done, so assuming it has, what is it called?

6x6.8spc is the straight neck down. 6gpc is another variant with a slight shoulder angle change.

Eta: it's apparently known now as the 24 Varminter by MDWS who did the GPC line of wildcats based on the 6.8 case. Lots of information on their forums about it.

Here's a 6.8 SPC necked to 22.

2 on the outside are 223 - next 2 are the 22x6.8 version - middle is a 6.8 case.

Here's the 6x6.8 SPC with bullets seated to AR mag length:

I have a .25DTI (6.8 SPC necked down to .257 with a slight shoulder angle change).
Great cartridge, and I would love to have the 6mm version also (6mm DTI)

Biggest draw back to the 6.8spc line is the lack of good brass being available.

Is starling no good? They sell straight 6.8 parents to be formed in your die. Seems like the easy button.

John Hollinger of White Oak Armament several years ago necked the 6.8 SPC to 6mm to use in the AR15 platform for NRA High Power competition. It was called the 6mm WOA.

I used one for several years when I shot across-the-course. Easy to reload for. Just run 6.8 SPC brass thru the sizing die to neck down and load. My AR spaceguns had 26" barrels and I was getting around 2725 fps with 105 Bergers and Varget.

I later switched to the Grendel necked down to 6mm (6mm Rat or Fat Rat) so I could shoot 105-107s thru the magazine for rapid fire stages. The heaviest bullet I could shoot magazine length thru the 6mm WOA was a 90 Berger due to the longer length of the 6.8 SPC case.

And thus the development of the 240 Tomahawk, 105s mag length. For HP, I'd argue tough to beat 95 gr for mag length 300 and in, then single load 105-108 long

My 22 is actually a 22 DTI, but I didn't want the cost of custom dies for the 6 DTI, so I went with the regular 6x6.8 in a X-Caliber barrel. I size the 22 with a 22 Valkyrie FL die, & touch the remaining untouched base with a cut off 6.8 die. I use a Redding FL bushing die to neck either version down.

I have zero issues with Starline brass, seems to take a beating quite well.

In stock too:

Direct 6.8spc neck down to 6mm is called the 6x6.8, or 6spc and other variants.
I have 3 builds in the 6x6.8, great coyote deer, antelope rigs.
6.8spc is a parent case to other neck downs, ups.
