6.8-08 SNM

Well with the boredom of winter setting in I decided to throw together some parts I had laying around the shop. Well after some scrounging I got it put together, Lawton action, Shilen barrel and a Highly modified Rem. wood stock.
With no good load data available for the Berger 150gr VLD's I did a little 280 to 7mm-08, and 30-06 to 308 load comparision. Picked a load and shot the gun, albiet only nine shots but the gun works, velocity was low but safe and now I can procede toward a good load and more testing.
Oh, yeah, the SNM is for "Short Non-Magnum".

The problem there is that mine isn't an Ackley, I would be right back at guessing of reduced loads in my gun. I will endure.

silly me, I guess I better walk the bookcase and check it out.

Update: I did get it off the shelf, and looks like good info to use for testing. And remembering:
"These loads are safe in the gun tested, start low and work up."
