I'll try this in the correct sub forum and maybe get some replies this time. I'm curious where people have found the node and encountered pressure.
While fire forming brass with 105 Berger H VLD's it seems like I hit a node between 37.8g - 38.4g with the 38.1g being a 1 hole .240 group. 38.7 and 39 were scattered. According to Berger's manual 38g is a max load. I tested 39.3, 39.6 & 39.9 today and 39.3 looked ok but then I pierced a primer @ 39.6 and figured I was getting into sketchy territory.
I had some more 38, 38.1 & 38.2 charges loaded today and couldn't get anything much under .7 MOA @ 100 yds so I set up a target @ 400 yards and did manage about .7 MOA on the 38g charge, .6 MOA on the 38.1g charge and then to my surprise a 7/8" 3 shot group @ 400 yards also.
All loads were new necked down Lapua brass, Remington 7 1/2 primers, Berger 105g H VLD bullets with reloder 17
Rifle is a Remington 700 with a 26" Broughton 1:8 twist in a Magpul Hunter stock and a vortex 4-16x44
Curious to hear others experience with this powder bullet combination.
