6-6.5x47 IMPROVED

6x6.5x47 IMPROVED, can this cartridge be competitive out to a 1000yrds, i stress the IMPROVED version.
i would like to know about, inherent accuracy, velocities w/ the 115 dtac, barrel life, and some loading info.
its a possible new project f-class and tactical rifle. this is what i will be using- surgeon f-class action, bartlien 1x7.8 twist 28in, McMillan f-class or a-5 stock,
there should be no problem with the equipment but i am concerned about the cartridge. i am looking for something that is inherently accurate with the capabilities to drive the 115 at 3100 or close.
i need some of the wisdom and experience that has been shown on this board to help out on a new project.

There's no reason whatsoever for the 6x47 LAPUA not be competitive at 1000 yards. Other similar wildcats are, and so are commercial cartridges like the 6 XC. And don't forget the 6 BR. Just when you think that little cartridge is finished as a 1000 yard winner along comes something like the 2007 NBRSA 1000 yard Nationals. Of course, it also takes a good barrel and a good driver.

I am curious as to why you are selecting a 115 grain bullet? There are so many really good 105 and 107 grain bullets that have been proven in combat that I think you should reconsider that decision. JMHO

its not that i'm choosing the 115, it's that i'm not excluding it. if it will shoot well at 31oofps then by all accounts it should be an exceptional tactical round as well as f class.

What sort of case capcity are you expecting from a 6-6.5x47Lapua Improved any way?

I have been shooting one for quite a while. It drives nails, but there wasnt enough gain in velocity to recomend fireforming brass. Mine will be re chambered to the standard 6x47 as soon as my reamer gets here.
