6.5X55BJ on a Tikka

The consideration is for a hunting rifle. Any downside, here???----like feeding problems caused by the 40* shoulder??

With traditional hunting bullets (not long ogive/long seated) I would guess not...and if so could be remedied without much fuss. However, i have only single loaded mine from a target action.

Aren't the Tikka actions all the same length??? I know they acomodate 270/280 length ctgs. Wouldn't have thought length would be a problem.

I only mention long loaded cartridges from a magazine feeding standpoint with the 40deg shoulder.... The abrupt shoulder angle could tip up the bullet enough to interfere with feeding into the chamber. I am only speculating but I suspect it would still feed fine. The OAL of my cartridges with 140 hybrids loaded 0.030" off the lands is 3.083" so it will fit the action.

Internal mag length is 3.618-3.620 give or take a few thou. Hard to measure because of the spring at the rear of the box. Actual magazine is just slightly shorter.
