6.5x55 Swede Sporter Replacement Barrel

Just a heads up for those interested. Numrich Arms is selling 6.5x55 Sporter barrels, chrome moly, threaded & chambered for ‘96 style Mausers. I’ll put the link below. I called Numrich to inquire. They said manufacturer unknown, twist 1:9.5”, .555 at muzzle. I ordered one, received it, and it looks pretty ok. Kind of what you would expect for $149.85. I did some research, and it certainly seems as though these were made by ER Shaw. They are 24” long, .550” at the muzzle, threaded, and chambered. The exterior finish is rough, and needs polishing before bluing. My only gripe, or critique is that the chamber does not seem to be centered as well as it could be judging by the tapering of the lands. Anyway, it should be much better than the barrel on my ‘96 Sporter that was either neglected or fired with corrosive primers. Also, I checked the twist a couple times. Sure seemed like 1:9 to me. Again, matching the Shaw #1 lightweight Sporter barrel profile & specs for a 6.5x55. I would have preferred a 1:8 twist, but I can live with 125 - 130gr bullets as long as it shoots well. Hopefully it will be DRT ”whitetail deer” accurate.
