Anyone have any experience with this?
To be more precise, what could one expect from a 6.5x55 and bullets in the 100 grain weight class from a barrel with optimal twist for such projectiles?
I now have a trued Rem. 700 with a Krieger barrel,1 in 8.5") that shoots 139 scenars in the high 2s and 140 AMAXs in the mid 3s but the 120 grain class of bullets don't fare so well. Therefore, I've never even tried anything lighter.
However, I'm thinking that when this barrel gives up the ghost that I will try a slow twist barrel and use it for varmints.
Any input would be appreciated.
