6.5x55 improved good or bad,

I,m rebarreling my 6.5 rifle and was tinking of changing from a standard 6.5x55 to 6.5x55 improved, does anyone know if this is worth doing, has anyone tried it,

I am building a rifle around the 6.5x55 AI and another around the 6.5x06 - check back in 3-4 months...I will let you know.

My reason for the 6.5 caliber - look at the BC and SD of the 140/142 grain bullets - few other bullets in various calibers are better.

When I was loking hard into a larger caliber than my 6mmDasher I looked into the 6.5's. I wanted something that I could still handle well off the bench so I didnt want to go the 7mm's or 30cal.

So, I looked right into the 6.5's, and for me, what came up trumps was the 6.5X55AI.

You can get the same velocity as a 6.5-284. You use a little less powder. Long neck. Great brass and its a little cheaper. Good stable case. A case that is nearly at 100% fill with powder,no empty space in case).

So, I bought a reamer, custom FL die, comp die set... the works............
