6.5x55, 260rem, 308 rims sizes

so after some google time i am no closer to the answer im after.
im thinking of a rifle build in 6.5x55. i would like to use the rifle i already have wich is a 243 win.
I cannot find a deffinitave answer and im hoping a smith on here can tell me. Will I be able to use my current bolt un modefied incase of a future change of mind. Wikki tells me base sizes for 7.62 308 win 243 win are all differant.. i am pretty sure they aren't. so i cannot trust that info.
so help would be much appreciated.

The 6.5 x 55 rim diameter is usually .480 and "SOMETIMES" needs to have the bolt face turned out a little bit if using a standard US rifle action, easy for a gunsmith NOT expensive. This cartridge also needs a "long" action.

If you have a .243 on a short action (or 308) both have .473 bolt face.
This action is "Short" so will not work correctly with the 6.5 x 55 cartridge because of cartridge length. I hope this is the information you seek.
