I am thinking about building a new 6.5 X 47 L on a nice custom action and I'm looking at different bullets that I might use. It will be a Hunting Rifle and will have a 22" barrel. I was wondering what your experience has been with this bullet? What kind of Velocity, accuracy and performance you have had with it? Any thoughts, ideas or suggestions really appreciated....

I have it’s brother ( the creed) and I have taken 2 deer with them now... one at 200yds one at 350, amazing performance, took both off their feet , a friend with me hunts with a 270 and always praised his nosler partitions but after seeing the accubonds performance switched... the accuracy is great as well.. shooting 1/2” moa.. I know your after the 47 lapua info but figured the hunting performance was worth mentioning

Spike, Thanks for your comments. I am interested in Deer hunting and I should have mentioned that. Were you using the Long Range Accubonds?

My hunting rifle is a 6.5x47 22 in. Shooting 130 lrab. Get about 2900 fps with varget. Have killed 2 mule deer and 2 elk w it. Have not hunted with my 270 since it was built. R700 trued action, 8 twist hart sporter barrel, boyds thumbhole stock lightened to 28 oz., ptg bottom metal for the aics magazines, swfa 3-9 ffp scope.

Probably get flamed for this NCV but I killed a bunch with the 123 gr. A-Max, ELD-M now I beleive, and it is an amazing killer. Best to stay off of big bones is the only caveat. JMHO

I think they may have been just accubonds, I think I got them before the lr’s Came out... I think the whole thing of lr’s are to perform better at longer ranges, but what are considered longer ranges?... I also shot a couple deer with my 450bm at 100’ ish and will say the accubonds pb did as much damage as the 450...

I will check today on if they are lr’s or not..

I shoot AB is 2 calibers, 30-06 and .260. I really like it. Mot much meat damage either in my experience. I have used the Partition for a number of years, I think their killing ability and overall performance are equal. The Partition seems to damage more meat if you hit a big bone.

I tried the the 129's out of my 6.5x47 but my rifle hated them no matter what I tried. Been shooting 139 gr. Scenars and they've been very effective on four whitetails so far.

I aint shot the 129 AB`s but my 6.5x47L shoots the 120 NBT`s with Vaarget at 2990 fps and they shoot really tight,,for deer hunting I zeroed it at 275 and it shot less than 1 inch groups,,dialing up at 500 750 and 1,000 they shot as well as the 130 VLD load I usually shoot.

For deer, it's REALLY hard to beat a Barnes 127 gr LRX. Accurate & deadly. I shoot them in my Grendel, 6.5x47 & 6.5 Creed. Everything dies regardless of the velo.

I have two 6.5x47’s. One is a RBROS which is heavy. Shooting the 130 Berger hunting out of this one at 3000 fps. Second gun is lighter at 8 lbs complete. It shoots the 130 accubond at 2900 fps. These guns took a total of ten Texas whitetail this year. Both bullets performed exceptionally well. Shots were from 80 to 300 yds. One feral hog dropped to the 130 accubond as well. I’d highly recommend either of these bullets.
