6.5x47 Trim Length

I just fired a hundred rounds of new Lapua brass. I am getting 1.835 on pretty much all cases. I see most people say 6.5x47 trim length is 1.843. Should I even worry about the brass until it gets past that point? How much does it matter if the cases aren't even down to the thousandth as long as they aren't long?

Refer to 6.5X47 Lapua diagram listed at top of "big stuff" page. Max length is 1.850" ..... Trim length would be 1.840".... When I do trim I like to maintain + or - .001" I'm sure others have differing opinions. As a side note my N.I.B. Lapua blue box measures 1.839" to 1.841" This answer may leave you scratching your head. A copy of reamer drawing for your chamber would give you your answer.

Why assume anything?
You can pick up a chamber length gage at Sinclair and measure distance to chamber end.

I trim to within 5thou of end, and can get away with this eternal because I never FL size.
