6.5X47 Lapua with Sierra 130Gr game Changer's?

Wanted to hear from someone who has actually used these on whitetails, Would like an honest assessment of their performance. Have used 130 gr Berger hunting Vld's with varied success, from bang flop, to finding them within 50yds of where I hit them, to spending half a day trying to find them in heavy cover, (hard time, no blood trail). All dead animals but a blood trail is absolutely necessary in heavy the cover that I hunt in. Would the 130 GK's fill that bill?

Also consider the Nosler Partition and the Barnes copper solids. Shot placement, penetration line/angle, and total penetration are going to trump the issues within proper velocity/range.

Maybe study the concept of "the high shoulder shot" and the nerve plexus at the top of the heart. Blood trails are never guaranteed. YMMV

Try the Berger 140gr elite hunter
YUP, My Family's Number One, 6.5 Bullet= the 140 gr. Elite's and I use, the 140 gr. Classic Hunters, in my .270 WSM.
Shot clear THROUGH, the Upper Shoulder Blades of an Elk, 2 years ago ( this Oct ) Base of Bullet, was matted in the Hair on opposite side,.. Upper lungs, "Scrambled",.. DRT !!
Berger's ARE,.. surprisingly, TOUGH and Deadly !
My #2 choice, 6.5 Bullet is, the Hornady 143 gr., ELD-X chosen for, my new,.. 6.5 Creed., Deer Rifle.
These Bullets,.."Work" !

high shoulder shoot them.
my kids have shot a bunch with the 130 GK out of .260's
no problems
if heavy cover, close up??? if so almost any bullet works...good luck

I used 130 GCs in my 6.5/.284 XP-100 handgun on several deer. Was not pleased. Poor internal damage, small exit, deer ran a little. Based on my 2700 handgun deer kills the best bullets have been 120 BTs, 125 NPTs, 120 Sierra Game KINGS.
The Game changers showed less damage than Nosler Accubonds.

Hi there, just wondering where you landed on a hunting bullet for your 6.5x47L. Did you try the sierra 130s?
