Gents ---- here's the situation:
I'm just shaking out my BAT 3L switch barrel with a new HV Bartlein 1-8.5 30" chambered with a PTG 40 degree no-turn reamer. Copper fouling ended after six rounds. Total fired round count to date is 35. I've not fired any specific load for group yet, but trialing various five round sequences for pressure evaluation with charges increased by .2 gr. I came upon a 123 SMK with AR Comp sequence that printed .39 at 100 yds. Starting round was charged with 35.2 and fifth round at 36.0 gr. in front of CCI 450s with bullets seated to just touching the lands. Some minor bolt lift and barely noticeable cratering around the firing pin indent was detected on the fifth round only. No case head expansion was measured on any of the five rounds.
With that all said, and before sending a bunch more of this bullet/powder combination down the tube for group and chrono, has anyone out there any experience with AR Comp and 123 SMKs? Or, AR Comp with any other bullet combination in the 6.5x47 L?
