6.5x47 Lapua @ 1k

so far i have only ran mine to 600yds,till spring that is.
i am looking for your 'actual' drops in MOA @600 and @1k for 130 and 140 berger vld's and not jb calculated,i can do that).
130-2920fps range
140-2850fps range
with a 100yd zero.

I'm running the 130 Berger and my 600yd bring up is 11 MOA and for 1K it's 26 MOA . I'm shooting F-class so absolute precision on the first shot is not critical but this has all ways been in the ballpark

I like the 130's but if your chamber is cut for them and if you could accurately get them to 2900-2950 with RL17 I think the 140's would have an edge. The 130 Bergers work very well for me and i'm not changing

chris,exactly what i am after,which will perform better at the given speeds)but not for competition,for groundhod hunting then antelope they are both shooting very well for me but i never shot either at 1k YET.spring is around the corner though.

with my measured numbers plugged into jbc and verified at 600yds;
130vld
600=11.0MOA and verified
1k=25.0MOA unmeasured

140vld
600yds=11.7MOA and an actual of 9.25MOA@512yds,jbc is verified)
1k=26.3MOA unmeasured

1.3MOA difference between the two is what i see on paper,which converts to 13.8' @ the 1000yd line.I have shot the 140's more than the 130's at this point but it seems to me that i too should give the 130's more attention? They both shoot very well.
What I am truely after is if there really is a 14' difference in their actuals at 1k from those who are shooting them?

this gun did not like rl-15 and i don't think i can get much more,if any from current H-4350.

Berger recently revised all their BCs.

I have now shot 500 140 VLDs in my 6.5x47 with RE-17, and I just cannot make them shoot as well as the 130s. It is a 8 twist barrel, so its not a stabilization issue. The velocity is sure there, I had no trouble getting 3000 fps, but I kept getting shots thrown out of the group.

The 130s shoot great at 1k for me, and I will not be testing the 140s any more....

everyone is backing the 130's over the 140's so far.The main reason for asking for 'actuals' at 1k is because of the BC change,to see what people are really getting.It seems like we don't have anybody shooting the 140 at the given speed that far tells me to stick with my current powder and use 130's.

thanks for the replies,i am still shooting the 130's and @770yds used 17.75MOA to put 3 just below the bull,18 would have done it,13:00 fairly strong wind)). I ordered 100 more pieces of brass to fireform and load 140's,i have a 500yd load for them) for the long range battle.I am hoping to run the 130's to 900+ later today.
