6.5x47 Lapua 108gr Scenars (Pics added)

I've found a lot of great loading data for the 123gr and 139gr Scenars on the forum. Has anyone loaded the 108s, or are they just not worth messing with? I've got some charges to try next weekend with RL15 and Varget, but wanted to see if anyone had shot any.

Re: 6.5x47 Lapua 108gr Scenars

They're excellent for short-range comps especially rapid fire where minimum rifle disturbance is a plus. Some people use them here in the UK in McQueens comps - a 200 + 300yd sniper based discipline where a head target appears intermittently for a few second exposure in apertures ('windows') in a plywood 'wall'.

Groups can be really small at 200/300 yards. Generally though, the 123s are so flexible and such good performers, I'd say to people get a good load for one of them and use it for everything in this cartridge.

I tried RL15 today in 36.0-38.0gr. charges. At 37.5 she made one ragged cluster with one slightly out that was my fault. Tomorrow I'll try Varget with the same charges up to 38.5gr. Will post results.

schumi, I found that 120 smk with 37.5 of varget worked in my gun , Never tried the 108gr , Let us know how you made out with it...

I tried the Varget. She likes 37.5gr. This is the same load she liked in RL15. And, ironically, the same load of Varget for the 123gr pills. No chrony on the loads, so no ES or SD to report. Was only shooting 5 shot groups from sandbags. Would have done a ladder test, but it's only a 100yd range.
