6.5x47 flash hole enlarging

My first post.

I was told there was a post regarding enlarging the 1.5mm flash hole in 6.5x47. I searched. Twice.

Looking for the process to do it. I was told enlarging would improve accuracy. More fire to burn the 40gr of powder faster.

There is a few approaches that can be taken here. Since that post I have built myself a 6*47 and have been experimenting. A lot of people seem to be getting excellent results by leaving flasholes and just going for a magnum primer. If you do want to go with a larger flashole I would recommend a tapered pin reamer with some sort of depth stop. These will give you a rounder, more even hole than a drill bit. http://www.victornet.com/subdepartments/Taper-Pin-Reamers/2548.html. Also I have recently made LR primer brass from .308 shells and they shoot equally well. Out of all of the above the magnum primers are the easiest and quickest to try and seem to get the desired result. Here is one link but it has been discussed many times

thanks for the link. Read it. I did aquire CCI450 primers this weekend, and will try them. I am sure eventually the urge to experiment will lead me to getting that reamer.
