I've been shooting a new Borden rifle and everything has been going smooth. The first batch of brass I developed was good but with an upcoming match I want to make it perfect.
I have some instructions from Jim: Making from 284 Win brass, run the brass through a 6.5x284 form die and be careful about setting the shoulder back. Prior to trimming and neck turning the brass-run through a 6.5x284 die with expander ball in and a 285 or so bushing. Set the shoulders back so that when used in the gauge, I was provided a piece of rifle barrel as a gauge) they are 3.400 to 3.401
The gauge measures 1.88, the problem I'm having is understanding what the 3.400 - 3.401 measurement is?
I would call Borden but he's gone for the weekend and I'm loading ammo.
I never ran the first Laupa brass through a die prior to using, it worked great. I want to make sure I'm loading this correctly for the Shehane cartridge. I'm using custom dies from redding for the Shehane neck.
