could someone explain why most people are shooting this
1000yd load at 2 to 3 grns more than the manuals suggest

Custom guns with custom chambers allow people to push limits the lawyers would not allow companies to try. Also, the typical 1000 yard gun is loaded single shot with the chamber throated so the bullets are out in the neck with COAL much longer than standard thus more usable case volume.

For accuracy. For reasons I do not completely understand this cartridge tends to shoot smaller groups at certain speeds. On my particular rifle I backed it off .3 of a grain to get the tightest group. Also speed and pressure can change with different power lot numbers. I always try to buy multiple 8 pound jugs with the same lot number if possible. If not I start out loading 1 grain lighter and build up to get the speed (and accuracy) I am looking for.

Different lots of power CAN cause speed and pressure issues!

Welcome to the forum, I don't have much to add as the first two replies to your question were spot on. I will say that's why I am reluctant to post my loads, and add a warning when I do.
