6.5mm SAUM dies - advice please

Hey guys,

Before I made the decision to go with the 6.5mm SAUM, I was going to do a 7mm SAUM. So I bought a set of Hornady 7mm SAUM dies. Rather than try to sell these dies (I won't get back what i paid for them, plus 7mm SAUM isn't that a popular cartridge down here), I'd like to stay with them.

So, I am going to swap out the 7mm seater stem and replace it with a 6.5mm seater stem, and keep my 7mm SAUM FL die for sizing down 300 SAUM cases to 7mm.

So my question is, can I get away with buying a 7mm SAUM body die for bumping shoulders back when the time is required and use a 6,5mm Hornady universal neck sizing die (my 6.5 SAUM will be a no neck turn) for neck sizing the cases, or just buy a 6.5mm RSAUM FL die from CH4D.

Or, buy a Redding S Type 7mm SAUM with correct bushings along with the body die?

Decisions Decisions!

Michael.

I have a Redding FL Bushing die, bump the shoulders and re-size the neck in one operation.

For seating I bought a Wilson 6.5 die blank and had the smith cut the die with the chamber reamer.

The FL Bushing die is a 7 SAUM with a .290 bushing........fyi.
