6.5 x 47 lapua & 140s

Does anyone out there have some experience with this case shooting 140gr bullets. I presently shoot this cartridge with both 123 scenars and 130vld bergers with some limited success. With RL 15 both bullets shoot groups of .334' and .310', respectively out o a 26' Bartlein 8.5 twist barrel. I just want to shoot something heavier. Any help with loads would be appreciated. Thanks.

Try H4350, that seems to be the go-to powder for the heavier bullets. Do a ladder test between 38 - 40 grains, work up to 40 grains though. If you are going to jam bullets, back off about a grain and work up until you see pressure signs. You should about 2700-2800 fps with this powder and your barrel length.

try 139gr lapuas with 36-38gr of varget with cci BR4's.

im running 37.5gr with 31' broughton barrel .010 into the lands and switched to the BR4's because they seem to have a harder cup than standard 400's and were more accurate than the 450's. i can get a touch over 2900fps. some people say they can run 38.5gr of varget but my experience was that i had around 2940fps, stiff bolt lift and loosened primer pockets after 2 firings. the faster powder may benifit your shorter barrel but 2900 could be out of reach with that tube.
