6.5 wsm 140 berger load data

I know there are a few fellows fooling around with this combo. In a 26" barrel what has been showing up as a good powder with the berger 140 hunting vld.

Having problems with this bullet out of my rifle. Shoots 142 smk's into little bitty groups, barnes the same way, but not the bergers.

Thanks for any info, and I have searched some. But would like real world info, not just some junk people post up to have something to do.

I have a 6.5wsm it sports a 26" lilja barrel. I shoot RL17 with the 140 vld's. My load is 55.0 grs. but BE AWARE this is max. in my gun. I could not get the slower powders to shoot in mine. I use a 9.5 Rem primer and it spits those 140's at about 3180fps over my chrono and damn accurate, easily less than .5 more like .375 when I do my part. I had trouble also shooting the 140 vld when I was trying to shoot them close or touching the lands. when I seated them deeper I finally found my sweet spot. I have shoot mine out to a 1000yds and it does quite well for a hunting rifle. Good luck and it is a great round anything I can help you with feel free to P.M me

I've been using retumbo and 7828 and think it may be too slow.
Will try some faster stuff today.

Try H-1000 with the 140 Bergers.....

Thanks preacher, I have a limited amount of H1000 on hand and was trying to save it for another rifle that loves it.....But did try some IMR 4831 and the speed was great, bughole groups, 8lbs of it on hand. Life is good. Its odd how just a small difference in burning rate can change the whole way a case will preform. This is a hunting stick, Tikka T3, Hawk hill 8tw 26" tube in the same factory contour. Its just crazy how this thing shoots, cause I know it's not the driver ;D

wvlongshot good to hear you got your 6.5 wsm shooting good, sounds like yours didn't like the slower powders also, some do and some don't go figure.
