6.5 TCU quickload help needed

Can someone please run me some quickload numbers for a 6.5 TCU with 142 Sierra and CFE 223 out of a 24" 1-8 twist barrel? I'm setting this up for my wife and would like to try CFE with this bullet. Thank you. Mark

I have a 6.5TCU and using ADI BM2 powder charge of 28 grains with 123Amax I get a velocity of 2640fps from a 24 inch barrel. Cant help with your original question though but its a really neat little round

Thank you Mike. That was the exact powder and bullet I was going to try for the short range silhouette animals.

No worries, It is a hot load so proceed with caution. I use mine as general purpose hunting rifle and chose the 123Amax as best compromise of velocity/bullet weight. So far the deer have all fallen over stone dead out to 300m

ALWAYS START LOW AND WORK UP SLOWLY

Using your requested parameters and the standard 2.40 COAL, you might want to start load development around 23 gr.

According to QL, the 6.5 T/CU max case pressure is 55,114.

23 gr. of CFE223 shows 44,752 psi and 98.2% of usable case capacity used.

Any load over 23.4 gr. shows as being a compressed load. 23.4 gr. is 47,4054 psi and 2199 fps.

You'll probably start getting pressure signs as you get near 24 grs. (51,734 psi - 2258 fps. 102.5% compressed).

QL shows max at 24.4 gr. (54,876 psi - 2297 fps - 104.2% compressed).

I hope this helps.

That's some amazing velocity with 28 gr. powder and 123gr bullet!

Thats why I like it, I built it cause I have an abundance of once fired 223 brass and like the 6.5mm.
Was meant to be a range gun to shoot while my deer rifles barrel cooled between shot but I like it so much I changed the stock to a Carbon fibre one and fitted a scope more suitable for hunting

Its the top one in this pic bottom is my 6.5SAUM
