Building this 6.5 PRC for a customer/friend.
First one for me. Kind of looking forward to seeing what the fuss is about or if its just another sales gimmick. Lathe work done now pillars and bedding.

I told him the get VV555, so he bought 8 pounds. Then i had to tell him thats the wrong powder. Damn, my bad.
Anyone around Huntsville Tx need any VV555?

I've had the best luck with H1000

N555 will work just fine.

N555 should work. I use H1000 with heavier bullets and H4831SC with the lighter bullets.

I’ve helped a lot of family and friends set up Tikka 6.5PRCs, it’s a favorite amongst them. Low recoil, easy to tune, accurate.

N555 will work, I’ve had my best results with N565 but I’ve also used H1000 with good results.

Interestingly enough N555 (nicknamed triple nickle) is one of the go to powders for the 6.5-7 PRC variants (6.5 PRC necked up to 7mm). Very popular in F Class these days. Seems like it would be a bit fast but those who are shooting it in competition swear by it.

On the slow burn end of things I was surprised how well N 570 shot the 156 Berger's. Fastest load listed in Vihatavouri's load data too.
