Hi guys, it's me again. I've been looking at the new 6.5 PRC from Hornady. I was getting ready to build a custom 6.5 284 for IBS 1000 yard competition when I ran across this new cartridge. Looking for your thoughts on it. Its a big brother ( Magnum) to the 6.5 Creedmoore. It shoots around 200 to 300 fps faster than the Creedmoore depending on the weight of the bullet that you're using. 140 grn at around 3150 fps. They claim that it's more efficient cartridge and address of some of the shortcomings of the 284 case.
Thanks for your thoughts and advanced. I did happen to see that Hornady committed it to both the hunter precision as well as the match rounds which is generally a good indication that they intend on this being around long term.
