I've seen some threads about this but they seem to focus on hunting and i only use this rifle for informal long range steel targets. Long range for me is usually 1k yards but I have access to 1 mile and I want to try this rifle at the mile soon.
Rifle is a factory ruger precision in 6.5 prc. I've been loading 147 eld-m and they've shot alright but not great. The other 6.5 bullets I have on hand are lighter (used for creed) Including 140 eld-m, 140 berger hybrid, and 142 Sierra. I have lapua or hornady brass and powders I have 4831sc, retumbo, or h1000 that would he suitable.
So my question is, any thoughts on using the 140 class bullets for prc for long range target or should I just order something like the berger 153 and not waste time with the 140s?
