6.5 PRC Build

A while ago I put this this together for @GlennK to play with. I just did the metal and they bedded the recoil lug. I just chambered the barrel. Didn't touch the action. Barrel is a #4 Bartlien carbon in 6.5 prc. Action is a Pure precision as is the stock. Bottom metal is Hawkins hunter DBM. These time up perfect with a Bix n Andy so thats what Glenn put in it. It came in about 7.5 pounds before optics. So far so good.

1.5-2" groups at 600 yards from a 7.5# rifle is pretty damn good I'd say...Nice job!

Looking good! I have a 6.5 PRC that needs glass & will be hunting big game in the fall.

I built a couple of 6.5 prc's with 24" carbon barrels and they shoot pretty much the same load Glen topped out with. Both rifles were sub 1/2 moa at 500 yards and pushed the 156gr Berger's at 2950. I've built a handful of these as hunting rifles and they've all been super easy to get to shoot small groups.

I could not get an adequate number of 156's whem I started load development in 2018 so I went with Bergers.
Presently, I have two 144 gr loads ar 3070 that shoot in the 2's out of my Bartlein barrel
