6.5 Grendel in CZ 527

Has anyone found excellent success with the 6.5 Grendel in a CZ 527? I have tried different bullet weights and powders, but I rarely get groups under an inch at 100 yards. I have checked that the barrel is free floating, the 18x scope is anchored well, the action screws are tight, etc. I have tried setting the OAL from magazine length to touching the lands. I average around 1-1/2 inch groups.
What have you found that works well for you in 6.5 Grendel in the CZ 527 rifle?

I have a MTR 527 , I think your rifle need a bedding . Like you , i tried a lot of different bullets
108 and 123 grs Scenar , 85 , 120 and 123 grs Sierra , 120 VLD Cauterucio . One of my best load
is with 108 grs Lapua , N 133 , CCI 450 , it will shoot 1/2 Moa at 100 m but not much better .
Hope this help you.

Michel

I have a CZ-527 American in 6.5 Grendel. I purchased for a light recoiling deer rifle at short ranges. It does well for that. I’ve not done any better than 1 1/2“ groups though for what I’m using it for it’s great. 6.5 Grendel kills white tails quite effectively with little recoil and minimal muzzle blast relative to other calibers I’ve used in the past.

I have a CZ 527 MTR in Grendel. I'm running 85gr Sierra HPs for Kangaroos and small game. It shoots half minute, which is good enough for what I'm doing. Probably the roughest 527 I've owned. The trigger in the MTR is a disgrace, I find the set trigger in the sporter much nicer to use.

I'm interested in this thread. I was going to tear down my Howa Mini Grendel and build an ARC, then buy a CZ to replace it. But now I'm thinking that replacing it with a CZ might not be the best option.

From all I read, it was my assumption that the 6.5 Grendel in the CZ527 rifle was a tack driver. Okay, I was mistaken, but I have not given up. I enjoy a challenge and I will make this little rifle shoot. That's the fun of this hobby. Stay tuned.

I had the same rifle. Terrible groups. Bedded the pillar in the rear screw mortise and bedded from the front of the magazine to the end of the chamber, and cut groups drastically. 1/2" or under are the norm now.

I assume your rifle is in the factory walnut stock. At the very least you need to bed and pillar the action or swap/upgrade to a B&C kevlar stock or a chassis.
