6.5 creedmoor whats your thoughts?

I am having my first custom rifle built by rws gunsmithing, and i decided to try the new 6.5 creedmoor. Anyone here shooting this round? how do you like it? Lee

I like it a lot, just wish we had better brass for it. But, I still shoot it, just a bit slower velocity than the round is capable of if the brass had better primer pockets.

If you are not trying to wring out every last bit of velocity, there there is no negative. Accuracy is excellent.

I just got a 6.5 Creedmoor Reamer and set of gauges from PT&G. I have a customer who is having me rebarrel a 595 Tika with a 1:8 5C Broughton barrel. The customer has ordered Hornaday Brass and dies as Redding does not make dies for the 6.5 Creedmoor.

I love mine. Yes, the hornady brass is a weak link, but I have spent a lot of time forming Lapua brass so I can push velocities with 130 VLD's. Is it better than other 6.5 rounds like the .260 or .260AI, 6.5 x 47, or 6.5 swede? No. Will it perform better than a 6.5 x 284? No. It is however very accurate, very easy to find the right loads for, and should have much better barrel life.

I do believe it is capable of competing with all of the above!

Anyone know how the 6.5 creedmoor compares to the .260 in the DPMS ARs?
