lapua 6.5 creedmoor has small rifle primer pockets. it also has a small flashole. can't use a standard decapping pin. make sure you remember that.
cci br4's work great.
So, in theory after a certain number of shooting, you can change to larger primers and continue on?I saw no accuracy difference between large/small primer. But 6.5 is awesome at making loose primer pockets, so I use small. Lasts longer.

Has anybody tested match quality primers large and small on 6.5?
I ordered SRP Peterson brass for my 308. That smaller flash hole in Lapua may be a contributing factor when using there brass. I never thought they drilled a smaller flash hole for no reason at all. The 222 is a standard size flash hole.
Which size flash-hole does the Peterson brass have? (You imply it's the standard 2mm / 0.079" size unless I've misunderstood you.)
I wonder if some laptops or phones might do an auto spelling correction on “flashole”.lapua 6.5 creedmoor has small rifle primer pockets. it also has a small flashole. can't use a standard decapping pin. make sure you remember that.

Start understanding sarcasm a little.....jeeez.NO !!!
Well, you can - but only by changing to Large Rifle dimensioned brass. (If an SRP case-head has so expanded that an LR primer would fit - and it would be one helluva coincidence if it were to be a perfect fit - the case is still unusable because it has been massively overstressed. It's junk in other words - and you hope the rifle isn't too.)
I think you've misunderstood LVLAaron's post - because the SR primed case-head is stronger than the LR primed equivalent (smaller pocket cut in the middle = 'more meat') it will stand up to 60,000 psi pressures much better. So while say some makes of LRP 6.5CM brass are junk after three or four 'warm' loadings, or a couple of 'hot' ones, you'd expect a lot more life from the Lapua SRP version.

It's all good. I have never heard it said before, and I kinda thought I was being cute. But I do take your meaning about being serious I guess. No apologies needed.Well if one wishes to use irony (not sarcasm here) or humour (to use English spelling as I do), the norm is to signal that by adding an appropriate smiley to the comment.
This is a serious forum after all and there are people who, as we all did on starting out, have various and sometimes very serious misconceptions. I looked long and hard at your comment, but couldn't see any indication that it was meant to be humorous, so decided to take it at face value.
Of course, if I'd looked to see how many posts you've made, I'd have realised that you couldn't be so dumb, ........ so please accept my aplogies, Sir.
(.............. Oh, and strange though it is to relate, I have heard that comment made in all seriousness by handloading beginners on forums, or others on the lines of: Where I can I buy the next size up of primer as the present ones keep falling out of my cases?)
I don't know an answer to your question but did see a fella with a new Bergara rifle yesterday shoot a four shot group that measured in the low ones c/c with Hornady ammo with lg. pockets. I believe the small pockets make for a stronger case in the base area.I am setup to reload 6.5 with brass that accepts large rifle primers. But lapua brass states small primers are more accurate on that cartridge. Has anybody tested match quality primers large and small on 6.5?
