6.5 Creedmoor question

I just need to know if anyone here shoots a creedmoor from a savage/aics mag so I can load some up at the right length to fit the mag. The loading books are vague at max length.I am using Nosler custom competition 140 grain bullets.Please pm me if you could.

I’m not familiar with your rifle I have a 6.5 AR10 I can measure the mag if it would help

Is the mag made by AI? Accurate Mag makes them without the binder plate, approx. .100" more internal.

I load that bullet in MY regular custom chamber and at my touch point, the COL measures 2.758 average. I’m sorry I do not know the measurements of the Savage mag.

It all depends which AICS pattern mag you got. Some are good for max COAL of 2.840" and others without binder plate can handle 2.980" COAL.

Find the Lands and load to your chamber, because I have a feeling Savage does not makes 6.5cm rifles with long freebore ( I could be wrong)

Standard AICS max is 2.86 so I go 2.85

Lot’s of AIcs patern mags without the front binder will do 2.96.
I’ve used both in a savage.

I have a dozen or so AICS mags and they are all much closer to 2.88" for a max coal.

Why not load them long and reseat deeper as needed when you get the mag?
