6.5 creedmoor neck dents with FL redding sizing die

So I have been reloading for 4 years, first bout with 6.5 creedmoor. I am getting a dent at the shoulder right below the neck after 1st reload when resizing. This is happpening with both 1 shot lapua and Hornady. I have tried changing the die seating depth etc. not sure if it is a faulty die or what. Any ideas much appreciated.0.jpg

As others have said, clean the inside of your die, then use very little lube on the case before sizing it. Main cause is too much lube on the case, especially around the neck/shoulder.

Yep

Clean the die. Try imperial sizing wax. Lube should only be on the case body not the shoulder or neck. lube the neck with imperial dry neck lube.

I've been using Hornaday's Unique. It's lanolin and really helps the chapped and cut/damaged finger tips as you rub it on the case. As an added bonus, wive's have been known to be particularly appreciative of soft hands.

Got one of those round cookie cans from wally world at Christmas. 4 inchs deep or so. 100 cases of 223, two sprays of my etoh (alcohol) and lanolin mix and a shake. Wipe each shoulder before I size.
