6.5 Creedmoor Cooper Barrel-NEED HELP

I just got my Cooper 6.5 Creedmoor back yesterday. They re-barreled it for me. Previously my load shooting the 140 Berger Hybrid Target had an OAL of 2.880. I was trying to find the lands in this new barrel and WOW. I'm at 2.945 OAL with the same bullet and just barely touching the lands. To me that is LONG!!!!!!!! I know I don't have anything to worry about with them being that long but was wondering if I could bump up to the new 156 grain Berger with no issues regarding the length of that bullet. FYI-I did not tell Cooper to add any freebore to this barrel.

I have some 156’s and they will fill that extra .065” of free bore right up and then some. Give them a try.

No Joke!!! I shot 1 shot of every load through the chrono. 40 Grains was max I loaded today. Let 3 of them rim down range. This was my first group with this rifle after getting it back from Cooper on Tuesday.

I also shot this group. Notice the load difference. But this one was at 200 yards. Probably had 15-20MPH Wind Gusts today. I'm pretty pumped with how this one is shooting!!!!
