6.5 CM 140 ELDM Load

Brass is primed with fed 210's and ready to load over H4350. Was going to start with 41 grn. 10 0ff the lands but read on hodgdon sight 36- 40 grn. 40 being max ?

Thanks all...What's a good reloading manual to purchase all of mine are old. Something that is more up to date....thx

Just look up Sierras load data for 6.5 Creedmoor on the net, it’s going to give you more real world loads than the watered down ones in most manuals.

Re 26.....

I'm running 42G of H4350 now in my 6.5 CM and getting about 2850 over the Chrono with very good results on target in 600 matches. A lot of 199's. I use the Berger 140 Hybrids, off the lands. Any idea where to start using RL 26? I'm going to start some testing now with that powder for next season. See if I can't push them a bit faster. Surgeon Action with Rock Creek barrel. Also planning to test the new Hornady 140 ELM's. I want to see if that huge BC they claim makes much wind difference.

I am running the 147s at 2747, using 46 grains of Re26. I think that would be a good starting point with a 140. Mine is a 24-inch barrel.

I can not get over 42 gr 4350,Lapua brass, with out having a compressed load. does any one else have this problem, or do you shoot compressed loads?

48.7 gr RL 26 140 gr berger elite hunters at 2.87" OAL .020" off lands 210M primers 2999 fps avg.
This load is working great for me. I started at 46.5 grains just looking for pressure and got up to 49.1 and still was fine. My accurate load is 48.7 and quickloads has it at 60,600 psi.
Please start low with your gun and work up. Look around on 6.5 creedmoor and Long Range hunting for bowfishn he has a lot of info on this powder, I used what he had his best luck with and it worked out great for me.

I run compressed loads all the time. Doesn't bother a thing, in my experience. You cannot get enough of some powders in small cases without doing it. If you don't use compressed loads, you really limit yourself to what powders you can easily use.
