6.5-284 Norma question

So, I will be building a 6.5-284 this winter. I'm thinking on going with Pac Nor as I have had very good luck with them lately. They do .290 and a .297 neck. I was wondering if someone could measure a new, unturned Lapua case loaded with a 142 gr. bullet. I don't know which neck to go with so looking for the measurement for some help. Don't mind turning the necks as I want to go with at least .002-.003 neck clearance. That's what I have read?! At this moment I plan on shooting 140 gr. bullets. Pac Nor offers free bore of .060 and .188. This will not be a rifle for p-dogs. Mainly for the occasional coyote or shooting at pretty rocks on far away hills. Any suggestions on the free bore. I'd also like to keep the bottom of the bullet no lower than 1/2 into the shoulder. Thanks.

A .297 neck is fine for a no turn neck with lapua brass, it Will give about .003 clearance. The .188 freebore will have a berger 140vld just barely above the neck shoulder junction

I use a .300nk and it works perfect. I just happen to have that exact load on my table right now- i can measure afterwhile if you still need it. The .300 works with lapua and winchester 284 brass as well which is why i use it.

Its actually my blue one. Hes moved on to a 280 ack. Same load shoots in every one ive done

OK. So, all things been equal, that would give me about .004 clearance. I guess at those measurements, skim neck turning would increase that figure by .002(?). Going by these. "what if's" would .006 clearance be OK? Or maybe I wouldn't have to touch the necks!
